NSDC, AWS and Cultus Launch Cloud & AI Skilling Initiative for 1.5 Lakh Learners: What It Means for India’s Youth

India's technology economy is expanding rapidly, but one question remains important: Will young people outside the country's biggest cities get an equal opportunity to participate in it? A new nationwide initiative involving the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Cultus Education and Amazon Web Services (AWS)  is attempting to address that challenge. Announced by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship on 23 August 2026 , the initiative aims to provide foundational cloud and artificial intelligence learning to 150,000 learners , while 10,000 participants  are planned to receive intensive, job-oriented training through the AWS re/Start program  and related AWS digital training content. The initiative will particularly prioritise youth from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and underserved communities , with training delivered online through Cultus Education.
