Inspiring Innovators: How Government of India and Netflix Are Empowering Young Creators to Tell India’s Innovation Stories

India’s youth are not just dreaming of change — they are creating it. In a powerful step towards Atmanirbhar Bharat, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA), and Netflix have come together to spotlight innovation, creativity, and skill development through a unique initiative called “Inspiring Innovators – Naye Bharat Ki Nayi Pehchaan.”

Launched under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, this initiative proves one simple truth: stories can inspire change when innovation meets creativity.

What Is “Inspiring Innovators – Naye Bharat Ki Nayi Pehchaan”?

“Inspiring Innovators” is a storytelling-led skilling programme developed in collaboration with the Netflix Fund for Creative Equity and implemented by Graphiti Studios.

The programme brought together:

  • Young student creators
  • Social-impact startups
  • Industry mentors
  • Government vision

The result?

Eight short animated films that tell the real stories of India’s emerging social innovators.

Skill Development at the Core

This initiative focused on hands-on learning, not just theory.

  • 26 students from across India participated
  • 50% women participants
  • Many students came from Tier-2 cities

Students represented universities like:

  • National Institute of Design (NID)
  • Satyajit Ray Institute of Film & Television
  • Chitkara University and more

They received mentorship from NID Ahmedabad experts and professionals from Graphiti Studios, gaining real-world exposure to animation, storytelling, voice work, and production pipelines.

Voices, Music & Culture

Adding another creative layer:

  • Voiceovers were recorded by participants from Voicebox, a Netflix–NFDC skilling initiative
  • The original anthem was performed by students of the Shankar Mahadevan Academy
  • This made the project a true blend of technology, art, culture, and youth energy.

Eight Startups, Eight Powerful Stories

Discovered through the Manthan platform, these startups represent India’s growing social-impact innovation ecosystem:

  1. NeoMotion – Custom mobility solutions empowering persons with disabilities
  2. Blind Vision Foundation – AI-powered smart glasses for the visually impaired
  3. Healthcare Global Enterprises (Innaumation) – Affordable voice prosthesis for throat cancer survivors
  4. Innogle – AI and underwater tech for marine safety and blue economy

Each film showcases innovation with purpose, addressing real challenges faced by communities across India.

What Leaders Had to Say

Dr. L. Murugan, Minister of State, I&B, highlighted how Indian creators now have the opportunity to create in India and create for the world, with storytelling emerging as a pillar of the Bharat economy.

Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser, emphasized how the programme connects policy intent with talent development and real-world application.

Shri Sanjay Jaju, Secretary, I&B, called it “the age of creators and storytelling,” especially as India enters an era shaped by AI-led narratives.

Mahima Kaul, Director – Global Affairs, Netflix India, reaffirmed Netflix’s commitment to skilling India’s young creative ecosystem.

Where Can You Watch These Films?

All eight animated films from Inspiring Innovators are now available on Netflix India’s official YouTube channel, making these stories accessible to everyone.

Why This Initiative Matters for Indian Youth

  • Encourages career paths in creative industries
  • Promotes innovation with social impact
  • Bridges the gap between technology, storytelling, and employment
  • Empowers youth from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds

This initiative sends a strong message:

India’s future lies in skilled youth who can innovate, create, and inspire the world.

Inspiring Innovators is more than a programme — it’s a movement where young voices shape India’s global identity through creativity and purpose.

How India’s Food Processing Boom Is Creating Big Opportunities for Youth in 2026

India is changing fast. From digital payments to electric vehicles, from startups to exports, new industries are rising every year. But one sector that is quietly becoming a major job creator and business opportunity for young Indians is food processing. Most people think agriculture ends at farming. But today, real growth begins after harvest  — when fruits become juices, tomatoes become sauces, millets become ready-to-eat snacks, fish becomes packaged export products, and dairy becomes high-value cheese products. This is where the government’s Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Food Processing Industry (PLISFPI)  is making a difference. The scheme is helping India build stronger food brands, bigger factories, more exports, and thousands of jobs. For young people looking for careers, entrepreneurship, manufacturing, branding, digital marketing, exports, or agribusiness, this sector is full of possibilities. What Is PLISFPI and Why Does It Matter? PLISFPI stands for Produc...

MSP on kharif crops and it's Impact on farmers

Each cropping season, India’s farmers work tirelessly in their fields – but  uncertainties in weather  and markets can wipe out their gains. Unseasonal rains, droughts, or floods can destroy months of hard work in a matter of days. Even when crops are harvested successfully,  volatile market prices  can push farmers into distress sales, forcing them to sell at rates far below the cost of production. For small and marginal farmers, who depend entirely on agriculture for their livelihood, these risks can mean spiralling debts, loss of income, and even abandonment of farming altogether. This is where the Minimum Support Price (MSP) becomes a lifeline. Minimum Support Price (MSP) is a crucial mechanism through which the government supports farmers by purchasing their crops at a pre-determined price.  MSP Policy and Determination Annually, Government announces Minimum Support Prices (MSPs) for 22 mandated agricultural crops based on the recommendations of...
