First Special Lok adalat to be held on 10 jan 2026 in Delhi

 Delhi State Legal Services Authority  in coordination with Delhi Traffic Police is organizing National Lok Adalat at seven court complexes for settling pending Compoundable Traffic Challans/Notices.It is held at court complexes of 

  • Patiala house,
  • Karkardooma,
  • Tis Hazari,
  • Saket,
  • Rohini,
  • Dwarka 
  •  Rouse Avenue on January 10,2026.

Instructions for settlement:

  • Only compoundable Traffic Challans/Notices pending on Delhi Traffic Police Portal and forwarded to Virtual Court till September 30,2025 will be taken up in this Lok Adalat. 
  •  It is mandatory to carry a copy of Notice /Challans.
  • Copy of Notices/Challans can be downloaded from the website of Delhi Traffic Police that is https://Traffic.delhipolice.gov.in/notice/lokadalat or by scanning QR code

The above mentioned link has been activated on January 5,2026 at 10 pm.
  • A maximum of 45000 Challans/Notices may be downloaded per day,subject to an overall limit of 1,80,000 Challans/Notices.
Minor cases are settled through single window in a day so avail this opportunity.  Minor cases may includes 
  • driving without helmet/seat belt,
  • overspeeding,
  • crossing red lights,
  • ignoring Traffic sign,
  • wrong parking,etc.
Serious or criminal cases remain outside the scope of Lok Adalat. Serious or criminal cases  may includes
  • hit and run cases,
  • driving by Minor,
  • unauthorized racing,
  • challan pending in court,
  • challan from other state,
  • death caused by negligence driving ,etc.
Unlike regular court proceedings, the Lok Adalat focuses on settlement. Cases are taken up in a single sitting, fines may be reduced or even waived, and matters are closed on the same day. However, only eligible challans listed on official portals can be considered, and advance online registration is a must in most cases.
