A National Stage for Digital Creators
Launched on 9 January 2026, Creator’s Corner is a dedicated prime-time platform on DD News that showcases content created by independent digital creators from across India. From small towns to big cities, this initiative brings grassroots creativity straight to national television.
For years, young creators have built audiences on social media—often with limited resources but unlimited passion. Now, Doordarshan is opening its doors to that very energy, giving creators credibility, reach, and recognition beyond algorithms.
2026: The Year That Changes the Game
At the launch, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw made it clear:2026 will be the year of major reforms for Prasar Bharati.
These reforms aim to modernize institutions like Doordarshan and AIR by embracing:
- New-generation creators
- Industry collaboration
- Technology-driven processes
Creator’s Corner is the first step in this transformation—blending the trust of public broadcasting with the creativity of digital youth.
The Creator Economy Is the Future
The Minister also highlighted the impact of the WAVES platform, calling it a game changer for India’s creator economy. The vision is bold:
- Empower 1 crore youth
- Create massive employment opportunities
- Generate nearly ₹5,000 crore in economic activity
This isn’t just about content—it’s about careers, livelihoods, and turning creativity into sustainable income.
PM Modi’s Vision and the Rise of the Orange Economy
Minister of State Dr. L. Murugan connected Creator’s Corner to the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision for the Orange Economy—an economy driven by creativity, culture, and content.
Today’s creators don’t need massive studios. With a phone, editing apps, and original ideas, young Indians are:
- Writing their own scripts
- Editing their own videos
- Building personal brands
- Creating impact independently
Creator’s Corner gives these self-made creators a national and global platform, proving that talent matters more than location.
What Kind of Content Can You Create?
Creator’s Corner celebrates diversity in ideas and formats. Content can be based on:
- News & current affairs
- Culture, travel, and food
- Art, literature, music, and dance
- Health, wellness, and education
- Science, technology, and environment
- Inspiring stories and entertainment
Each episode features 4–6 short videos or reels, aired at 7:00 PM (Monday to Friday) on DD News, with a repeat telecast the next morning.
That’s prime-time exposure—something every creator dreams of.
Why This Matters for Young Creators
According to MIB Secretary Shri Sanjay Jaju, this initiative recognizes creators not just as performers, but as complete content makers—thinkers, storytellers, and changemakers.
Creator’s Corner will soon expand across all Doordarshan channels, creating space for multiple languages, regions, and voices. It’s about making public broadcasting youth-centric, inclusive, and relevant again.
